I cant believe ive found a thread where Ste is giving good advice instead of 'cat porn'.
Long story short, Ste is right, use a wired one not a wireless one as HT interference from your ignition will mess with the wireless ones.
the trailtech vapor is nothing but an expensive pushbike speedo, its only worth if it the extra functions on it that arent on a pushbike speedo are important to you. (my pushbike speedo has mph, running time, clock, max speed, average speed, trip and odometer)
Mud will NOT affect a pushbike speedo at all, ive been using a pushbike speedo on mybike for the last 6 months or so, am constantly taking it offroad and not even submerging it through fords then getting lots of dust and mud stuck all over it has affected it. I know a fair few people that have been using pushbike speedos on there bikes for years with no faults, the only issue is most of them arent backlit, that can be worked around with a simple led and a bracket though.
Cheers

stinkwheel Well I just had my hands up a pigs fanny. Which makes your concerns pale into insignificance. |
