Hi my mate has just bought one of these, however he has been unable to get it to run since the last owner delivered it. i had a look today and there is no spark from the plug, however when the ignition is pressed, there is only a servo sound.

thus BCF is this liable to be a starter motor issue?

( i have no idea with 2T engines)

If there is no spark it change the spark plug them work backwards (cap, lead, coil) till you get a spark.

tried charging the battery up?
thats the 1st place i'd start, tick a multi-meter on the battery & press the starter & watch the voltage drop.
it it doesnt go back up to 13v, charge the thing up, then work back from the battery.
cheers,
GAZ

next step is to try & see if the spark plug is actually sparking.
take it out & put it into ht cap & earth against frame, whilst hitting starter button.............. is it sparking?
if its not a big fat blue spark, change it for a new one & repeat.
if its not sparking at all, check ht lead & cap.
then work back to starter relay/solenoid then stater motor.
does the starter motor spin when 12v is applied to it?.
cheers,
GAZ

by listening to it from when we tried i'd hazard the starter motor wasn't turning. i was more wondering if it was a known issue with these that any part of the starting circuit that is weak.

tried a new plug?
thats usually the 1st thing i check when anything goes wrong on any of my 2t's.
chuck a new plug in,as they do have a habit of failing.
then with a freshly charged battery, start again.
cheers,
GAZ
