Obviously you are not one of these "fags that nitpick on grammar."

Same engine as the yzf125, fastest 4 stroke 125, just with different gearing, with full exhaust system, apparently can get 24bhp, which im happy with
Granted wont be as fast as a 2 stroke, but will be more reliable etc. Very Happy Thumbs Up

The man speaketh the truth.

In regards to the bike itself - looks cool, but you may regret buying a new bike when it comes to the re-sell value (unless you plan to keep it for many years ahead), if you decide on doing your test.

Fair play to having the money at 17 for it though.

Well planning on going for my restricted licence this year on the wr, and keeping with the bike for 2 years minimum untill can ride any bike without restricting it, if i understand correctly that is. Thumbs Up

yeah that sounds correct, if you were to sell the wr125 as soon as you passed your test for a 33bhp restricted bike then the wr would be a waste of money. however if you used that during your restriction period then it makes a bit more sense.

although just make sure you have a bit of a play on some bigger CC bikes so as not to jump straight from the 125cc onto say a 600cc as soon as the restriction is over.

although however (too many connectives here lol) some people will argue as long as you are careful you will have no problem, but its still nice to try all the different ranges of power. others may say that a restricted license may not necessarily equal a restricted bike though Wink

lots of different ways of looking at it all, but your plan sounds sensible enough. you just may get bored of a 125 after passing your test...

24bhp is probably more than a destricted DTR 125, will believe it when I see it tbh Thinking

No...

It wont be 24hp, its going to be at best 14hp.
It isnt restricted, if its the same engine as the YZF then you are stuck at 14 without really screwing up the engine internals.

I'd love to have raced a YZF125 on my GT125, just to really show them up, my Korean heap would happily overtake and keep running.

That said, its a nice bike, should be enough to get you through your test Wink

Actually your wrong, the wr125 is restricted with a cat in the pipe, if you put a full system in its proven you get 3-4bhp more, & you can also get a 150cc kit, also according to yamaha its 15bhp standard Thumbs Up

O.k but forget the 150cc kit as if you do that, you might aswell have taken your test and be riding a full power bike on a restricted license...

A full exhaust system may help a little bit but telling us on here about 3-4bhp wont Wink Sticking a new system on a new bike defeats the object of having a new bike IMO... just keep it stock for the time you have it.

oh and just for old times sake,

That is not a restriction, it's for the emmisions law, all bikes would be quicker de-cated with a full exhaust system, doesn't make them restricted, so actually you're wrong. Thumbs Up
