Well am hoping some of you could give me some usefull input... from other forums i have been on i know these threads can become flame war but yeh anyway

I`m stuck on what bike to get next.... i`ve had a r6 5eb model, vfr 400`s in the past and i`ve got at the mo a zx6r b1h had it for nearly 3 years.. and well yeh while there is nothing wrong with it as such i feel its a bit long in the tooth now its a 2003 and while many say its the best krapasaki 600 apart from the new un... but i dont know i`m bored of it...

so i have a list of bikes which i`m interested in but i just cannot dis-regard any! so help please...

The list

Honda vtr sp1

Yamaha r6 2006 onwards.

Honda cbr 1000rr *pre belly zaust*

Gsxr 750 k5 onwards * dont like indicators in wing mirrors tho*

i love the 600`s there just so fun.. i am in no way a straight line lord... i prefer corners... hence why i aint really keen on a 1000cc il4 in my opinion i feel you loose some of that flickability on 1000cc`s plus who needs all that power on the road never gonna get to use it... yet the twins... there slower yes but better corner exit and stuff but yeh.

input please....

cheers Ash

I had a 2006 R6, and now I have a 2009 CBR, the R6 was a more fun bike, it was very agile, and had super sharp handling. The CBR is a better road bike, its just as fast through the bends as the R6, but not quite as fun. I loved the R6 and would definitely have another one, there really good bikes. They are quite twitchy, but there great fun. There pretty fast aswell, although they dont make ANY power until 10,000rpm, so you do have to have them in the right gear to get the best out of them, all adds to the enjoyment though!

Out of that list though, I'd probably get the SP1 or an SP2, because I love them, not going to be as flickable as the R6 though!

The R6 is definitely not boring, I used to love riding mine, I would be grinning constantly whilst riding it!

The best thing to do is test both and decide for your self!

My neighbour had one and it didn't sound like a tractor, with the blue flame cans he had on it was more like a bloody jet, beautiful noise Laughing

I don't know why but the idea of a gixxer 750K5 appeals to me.

Just because its rated the top sports road bike by MCN does not mean its going to be exciting. The CBR is rated the top sports road 1000cc bike and it is a bit bland and boring. I'd try the R6 and SP and see which one you prefer. The R6 is very good fun, as Iv'e already said, I used to love riding mine, would get off it with a big grin on my face! Try every bike out, but I think you will find the SP and R6 the most entertaining out of all the bikes!

K5 750 does not have indicators in the mirrors. That was only the K5 1000. IIRC the 750 didn't get the indicators in the wing mirrors until the K6+ model.
K5 is also the last model of Gixer to have a proper can, and not the silly little stubby 'GP inspired' things that they have now.
Get a K5 Gixer, best bike of ever, ride it like a big 600 (rather than a small thou) and you won't be disappointed.

Also, make sure you get a blue/white one. Engine produces at least a million horses more. Anyone who says different is a great big ghey.

Thumbs Up

I seem to think that in this months (July) "Bike" magazine they dispelled the theory that twins lean further and exit quicker when cornering etc... IIRC the 4cylinder s1000rr leant in further than all the twins and they all had the same exit speed (owing to them all having enough power to overwhelm the tyres, therefore making the rubber the limiting factor as opposed to the engine's ability).
