What can happen if a bike is left with fuel in the carb is that the fuel evaporates leaving behind a varnish type substance. This can block the small holes in the jets. Sometimes you can leave them to soak in carb cleaner overnight and clean them out the next day, other times you have to revert to more drastic methods. As Marki says, try it out first, you may be OK.
The old "carbs need cleaning" can be a cover up by people selling bikes when they know damn well that there is something else wrong with it. ie: " it's just the carbs mate, they just need cleaning out" |
