my dt will not rev properly and cuts out please help me

hi guys,

i have a 98 dtr which is giving me jip

i ran it on reserve for about 10 miles and towards the end off that it started spluttering and not revving out like normal and somtimes bog and cut out as if i was out of petrol.

i filled up thinking this was my problem but it carried on

i have cleaned the carb out + main jet

changed the sparky new one was a 9s, died straight away so now has the old 8s with decent spark emitting.

it does run rich on oil but it has done for last 500 miles not a problem.

when it goes to bog out if i put the choke on it tends to then rev again but still not fully as normal

please help me any one

sounds like its too lean. by leaving on the reserve you will have probally pulled a load of gunk from the bottom of the tank through. i would reconmend that you change the fuel filter, and check that the fuel lines are okay.
