Hey,

I believe the engine is a DRZ400E engine used in the CCM 404DS bike. I had some issues with exhaust valve clearances closing up. I've put in the new shims and put it all back together using the official Suzuki DRZ400 workshop manual.

However now it won't start on the leccy start, it will bump start and run absolutely fine but it dies when it gets down to idle speed and like I said it just won't start on the starter. Inlet valves were on the verge of being too tight but still within limits.

any ideas? idle jet?

any help is much appreciated,
cheers guys
Jesse

You don't say how it behaves when you are trying the electric starter.

Is the battery good? If not I'd look at the charging system.

well I've tried jump starting it from a car which I've done in the past and has worked.

It just turns over with little or no life at all.

cheers

So the battery was dead. I'd check the generator, regulator/rectifier and the battery itself.
