They are usually located "under the seat", but I don't think that's very feasible on the Yam RS. ...having said that - could it have been somehow integrated in the seat block? It should almost certainly be located away from engine and exhaust. ____________________ TiN

Hmm, i've looked at my key and its just got two screws in the back and a little no 1 on the front. That is all under the insulating tape that is holding it together though!! (hence why I feel that I really need a spare key!!!).
When you say the seat block, where exactly do you mean? I have taken the seat off and I can't see any wires near the top of the bike where the seat was.
I think tomorrow i'll have to unclip and cut the ties round all of the wires and trace it back properly
Cheers for your help. |

I had a T3000 fitted on my NSR from new, the unit is mounted behind the right rear faring. You can see it when you remove the seat but you have to remove the fairing to get to the unit.
Obviously its going to be different on your bike.
The unit looks like a small black metal box with an enlarged 'base plate', presumably to screw/attatch it to the bike. (Just in case you aint found it yet.

Hmm, if you can fully detach the seat unit, then I guess that it isn't hidden in there (otherwise the wires will probably give it away). Are you absolutely sure that there is an immobiliser on there? Try hotwiring it to check... ____________________ TiN
