Preservative spray stuff?

Hi folks,

I've read on various occassions about a spray that you can spray onto bolts, metal bits, etc, and it cakes up into a hard kind of waxy substance.

The idea is that it looks pants, but the nut or bolt underneath remains sealed and protected. I guess it chips off easily when required.

Anybody know what it's called and if it's any good?

Thinking about lathering some on a bike which I have to leave sitting outside unfortunately.

Tbh, FS365 is pants. ACF50, now that is the dogs danglies!

ACF-50 costs a lot but it's v good.

FS365 is a cheaper not quite as good alternative.

Ditto the ACF50 comments, good stuff !!

My old Cx had its swing arm flooded with old engie oil
after I repaired/welded it and
the frame tubes were treated with ACF50 internally
cos they all rot from the inside out.

Anythings better than nothing though
steel rusts, ally oxidises so any exposed areas
will benefit from old engine oil, WD40, copperslip, grease,
vaseline etc to protect it from the elements
if you dont have anything more expensive or better to hand

Another one here for ACF50.

Proper detail clean once before winter, apply ACF50 liberally (whole spray can will do it), don't wash bike for whole winter, spring arrives have a clean up and you'll be amazed at the results!

I recently purchased 'muc off' protective spray, can't comment on how good it is as the bike is only a few months old

TBH can't go wrong with a brush and a tin of grease. Works for me.


Bike will look fucking skank though....
