I got the "advanced motorcycle alarm v3". Have used it for nearly a year. Same company/website.
I posted about it on this thread:
https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=200693
Noteably it runs in parallel with the bike's electrics and so if it goes wrong it can simply be unplugged. Not so good for security (because when it's unplugged/snipped the alarm and immobiliser will both stop), but far better than risking being stranded (i try to avoid relying purely a mere alarm anyway, physical security is better). So i like it, but i'd probably go for a more basic version such as yours in future (as the additional features probably aren't worth the extra money). Maybe the talking one, because people listen to voices more (i can probably put up with the annoyance of it talking all the time).
I've been told that whatever alarm i get, it's going to break sooner or later (as well as recommended not to bother etc), so i figure spending 2 figures on it is far better than 3 figures!
Oh and let me guess, the dealer sells expensive branded alarms? ____________________ -- Ingah |

Personal opinion a alarm on a bike or a car come to that is a waste of time.....
How often do you hear them go off, and do you ever see anyone interested when they do.
Far better to invest in physical security. ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

The most likely time to get your bike nicked is when you've had to abandon it somewhere unusual because the alarm has drained the battery.
I had to leave my bike in some dodgy places for uncomfortable periods of time due to the alarm fucking things up.
Ripped it out and bought a couple of Almax chains. ____________________ Yamaha SZR660 Caution to the wind, the throttle pinned! |

I had this for around 2 years and it worked wonders. Then I got a new bike and fitted the alarm to the new bike. Then it kept going off all the time! ____________________ Boris - London |

I find that physical security alone is not enough peace of mind. Someone can kick my bike over, smash it to bits and all kinds, and i won't have a clue until i walk out the door of my friends house and realise that it's on the floor in pieces. Try smiling about it being chained to the lamp post then! I'd prefer both physical chain AND the alarm to know if somebody's trying to fcuk about with it so i can go and chase them off (or preferably catch them ) . I find myself CONSTANTLY getting up and checking on my bike whenever i'm at a friends house etc. I can not settle. So i plan to fit an alarm to my next bike (post test) but I don't plan to have the 125 for long enough to warrant it and I use my bike most days so the battery isn't too much worry at all. ____________________ 57 Huoniao HN125-8 - , 97 Kawasaki GPZ500S -

Last week I sold a bike. New keeper showed up with a van and we put the bike into the van. It took a good 5 minutes, loads of people walked pass without any interest. ____________________ Boris - London |

I bought the Cyclone C11 Alarm / Imobiliser / auto starter from the same place, arrived next day, fully fitted in about 1.5 hours, and worked perfectly, didn't drain the battery after being left for 3 weeks, never had any problems with it. Off the top of my head i'm pretty sure it wasn't insurance approved so didn't lower my premiums tho, but a good decent alarm.

I've fitted three cyclone type alarms, two to my own bikes and one to a ped. Each time, I didn't bother with the remote start or the immobiliser. If someone was going to try and hot wire the bike the anti-tamper/vibration heehaw should be triggered, if that doesn't scare them off the whole thing becomes superfluous.
Equally, If they've just chucked it a van, the alarm will sound (I understand the ne'er-do'wells pad the inside of their van with matresses to dampen the sound.) They can remove the alarm at their leisure at a later time and place.
I've had a bike stolen (one I didn't fit an alarm to) it was chained up but they just lifted the whole thing away, it was a KTM LC4. If it had been alarmed I would've been awoken and I might have seen something or been able to intervene.
Now I'm paranoid. Bike is alarmed, chained to the ground and has a disc lock/alarm in place. Its also parked behind security gates.
An issue I have is with so called secure parking. If its parking under a building or in a gated car park (as mine is now) its only going to be secure as far as you trust the people in the block of flats you reside, frankly I wouldn't trust any of them as far as I could punt them so the alarms etc all go on with out fail.
