You need a multimeter and check for continuity. Check the wiring loom, I bet it has melted somewhere if the mainfuse has blown

doesnt the alarm have its own supply anyway? check the main fuse, not just in the fuse box. its usually on the starter solenoid

Also make sure that the battery terminals are tight, loose terminals can cause intermittent total electrical failures.

iv just took the hole loom out to strip it and rebuild it so will be looking out for any burnt or striped wires

and gs 500 only has 1 fuse on the starter there is a pop out resistor

I'd see if you are getting 12V at the battery positive up at the ignition switch.

it could quite likely be a break somwhere along the wire - as said you need a multi meter and properly trace where the connection has broken. I'm sure there are more than 1 fuse on that bike. Its not in the same place as the main fuse. There is usually another 5 somewhere

funny considering they didnt start making the 600 untill 1992
so ill assume you mean gsxr750 Very Happy

pretty easy to have 2 sets of lights, your biggest problem is hiding all trhe wiring that is in the large single round stock headlight,
and of course mounting said gsxr headlights,
are you using the whole gsxr fairing??
in my opinion, every other head light bar the stock one just looks stupid on a gs500,

if you are hell bent on the twin lights,
then pull all the wiring back under the tank, and just have 2 sets of wires going out from the 1 connector to the headlights,

Dont think its a GSXR fairing or lights.

Looks like a standard fairing that they did on some models of GS. (Slingshot?)

it looks like a "spec II" aftermarket fairing,
anyway back to your problem

1st check that you have 12v at the red wire on the ignition switch
if so then with the key "on" check that you have 12v coming out on the orange wire,

the orange wire feeds everything, if there is damage too the wire or the ignition, then you won't be able to turn on the lights or even start it
