I'd take it to a specialist place yes.
You'll need to unstitch the leather and stitch the new zip in, so you'll need to find somewhere that has the knowhow and kit to sew leather.
I recommend Hideout Leather in Essex, but I don't know if they're local to you. ____________________ My Flickr |

To be fair there probably are some local leather workers, you'll just need to hang on for someone that knows your area. ____________________ My Flickr |
