 |
|
Hello all,
I am new to the forum, a pleasure to meet you all!
I am about to take my mod 2 test on Friday, and right off the Test center there is a roundabout with more than two exits so I wanted to check with you guys before I go ahead and fail because of it
If I got 2 exits to my left, one ahead and one two the right, I am sure the procedure is to turn on your left indicator right before taking the second exit to the left or the one straight ahead, immediately for the first left exit and right indicator for the right exit.
However, What happens if there is one exit to the left, one straight ahead and two to the left?
Assuming you want to take one of the exits to the right, you enter the woundabout with your right indicator on and switch to your left indicator right after passing the exit before the one you want to take?
Al the publications I have found refer to standard 3 exit roundabout so wanted to check.
Thanks for your time.
Regards,
Alejandro |

Has your instructor not taught you basic highway code stuff?
Surely you covered this in your CBT. Shocking tbh.
The 12 o'clock rule - Think of the roundabout as a clock face and you're the number 6.
If an exit off of the roundabout is lying beyond 12 o'clock, indicate right as you approach and enter the roundabout, continue to indicate right as you go around the roundabout until you have passed the exit before the one you wish to take, then indicate left to signal you are exiting the roundabout.
If the exit is before 12 o'clock you will NOT indicate until you are "exiting" the roundabout BUT...
If the exit is the very first exit. You indicate left before joining the roundabout and continue to do so as you take your exit.
In my rubbish drawing... Yellow = Left indicator. Black = No indicator. Pink = Right indicator.

Hello Bloke,
Thanks for taking the time to explain and draw this. This was explained to me during the CBT and in other opportunities, but the wording changed everytime. However, the most important reason I asked is because in all the examples around (publications and in training) we dealt with roundabouts that had only 3 exits.
I am taking the test in Croydon and right after leaving the test center there is a roundabout like the one I described. I would be gutted if I failed on this and right starting my MOD2.... again... The first time I took it my instructor decided to explain to me and the other pupil how to deal with these outside the test center right before going in and he got confused in the process. I just wanted to be 100% sure before failing again. MOD2s are very expensive |
