The ones you linked to are absolutely terrible lights - basically a couple of low voltage house spot lights stuck in a bit of plastic! You can get single bulb road legal ones for around £30 or so, but again probably not as good as the stock one on your bike.
You can get more expensive twin unit ones that work better and are road legal.
I'm pretty sure you can make these road legal; you get lots of light and they're in a twin configuration ...

Thanks for the replies.
Yes the light I have is pretty good so it would be daft to replace it with a shite one.
I did not know those I posted were that bad.
I did find some dual road legal lights for £47 but without a cowl which I would like to have.
I did find an Acerbis single light with cowl on ebay which is road legal so I assume it has, side, main and high beams,

The road legal bit is more the beam pattern of the lights - that there is a definite dip and high beam - while the others are either the same, or a wide and narrow, rather than following the specific dip pattern required.
But yes, I have that one and it has dip, high and a sidelight. Still not an amazing light and your stock one is probably better, but I stick them on bikes to pass MOT at least (one on my zx9 at the moment still, I believe). |
