On Monday night I managed to leave my squire padlock in the multistory when leaving work. It's an 80 quid padlock and not only that but I left it with my keys in it, including house keys and my only key for my CG125, so it now looks like when I get an engine I will be having to install a hidden ignition switch somewhere instead.

There is hope yet as there's a ybr125 that parks where I park sometimes so maybe he saw it and picked it up for me. Plus there's a sound security guard also.

I think it's pretty likely that someone has lifted it though. Sad

I am an idiot!

I'm always doing stupid things like leaving the garage doors open all night with all the bikes in there or leaving my door key in the front door.

It happens mate don't worry about it...I left the keys in my ignition the other day when i went to my town centre to go shopping...Looked in all my pockets for ages and checked my rucksack and had no look. Went to security office and asked if anyone had handed them in and no luck so phoned my mum to bring my spare keys and went back to my bike and found them Razz

The keys for my ZZR are seperate to my main bunch of keys with the padlock key, house keys etc on there. That's how I got home.

Do any of you think I should leave a note on the 125cc dudes bike with my mobile number and ask if he picked it up?

It is a small space between the trolley bit and a wall. He is the only other person who parks there (I pretty much invented that spot but he obviously spotted me one day and takes it for himself when it's free) We both work at the centre though so maybe he picked it up for me. I don't know the guy though so maybe he took it for himself, but it's not like he could use it at work without me doing something about it.

The only other option is that either a customer picked it up after putting their trolley away there or one of the security or trolley guys picked it up.

Thanks guys for your opinions and help.

Yep...

I would also ask at car park office and the local police station, there are actually pople who will hand stuff in Thumbs Up

Sounds like a claim on the house ins for a new set of locks then Shocked and a new lock set for the Cg. Or if you are lucky there will be a key number on one of the locks.

If you do a search, there are companies who will cut a key to the lock if you send them it. Thumbs Up

I just found the old padlock that was used to lock up my grandads butcher shop and it fits on my almax chain.

This is pretty much it but this one is in worse condition. What is your opinion of this lock?

I would be using it for 2 weeks while waiting it out to see if I get my padlock and keys back.

Thanks guys.

Couple of years back I spotted a bike parked on Scarborough sea front with keys left like that.
Hundreds of people walking by could have had the bike or removed the keys for mischief.

I decided to remove them and leave them with a stall across the road, putting a note on bike.
No idea what happened, maybe the stall owner rushed over and nicked it when I left. Laughing

My head is screwed, i'll go upstairs to get an envelope, have a slash while up there and come back forgetting to get envelope.

Often forget what side of the road to ride on, I do as many miles over the water as i do in the UK so i do have some kind of excuse but still not a good thing to be doing.

Remember stuff from years ago like it was last week but go ask me what i was doing an hour ago and i'd have no idea, it is a bit of a worry

Sounds all too familiar, I'm afraid. I seem to be regularly double-checking my pockets or keys whatever it is that I'm doing, cos I can't remember the previous few minutes - almost like I'm running on my subconscious mind for a large precentage of my day Shocked

My main one though is when I'm doing some DIY or working on the bike in the garage, I'll put a spanner or some other tool down, then spend the next 10-15 frustrating minutes looking for it again. Evil or Very Mad

When I'm tired I too find that, not because I have ever ridden abroad but because I have put so many hours in playing GTA and alike. I've only once actually ended up on the wrong side of the road though and that was for a split second years ago when I had just passed my car test.

Otherwise my problem is having a great idea then totally forgetting it about 20 seconds later when I get up to do it.

Numerous times i've left my key in the bikes ignition and then spent hours looking for it - and i dont know if it's more idiocy that forgetfulness, but a few months ago i needed to put some petrol in the car, went to the front door and it was sunny so i thought, what a crackin day - i'll go on the bike. only when i'd got all my gear on, got the bike out and just clicked it into first did i think - "hold on.......... d1ckhead" Rolling Eyes

I did that this morning.

I'd just finished fitting my new can and was excited to take the bike out for a quick blast. Needed some bits n' bobs from the supermarket too so decided to take the bike. Put draggin jeans on, then my jacket and then my rucksack to carry the shopping home. Went out and started the bike and slowly reversed down my drive. Just began to set off when the bloke across my street gave me quite a funny look.

This made me think something was wrong and then I realised I had left my helmet and gloves up in my bedroom... Not the first time I have done it either. Rolling Eyes

How the hell can you forget to put your bash hat on. That would feel completely alien to me.

I got chatting to my neighbour while getting my gear on and while riding down a dual carriageway I heard the distinctive tap tap tap of the helmet strap hitting the side of the lid. I had forgotten to do it up, so I pulled in to the first layby and fastened it up. Rolling Eyes

When you see someone look at their watch ask them the time straight away and watch them have to look again.

I managed to hunt down my padlock and keys today. The security guy picked them up and put them in the control room rather than lost property.

That guy is a legend.

I want to give him a tenner or something, but I am very aware of all the cameras and someone possibly seeing me do it. It may also lead someone to think im paying him for information or something.

Bah, i'll try and find him.

FFS, things shouldn't be hard to give someone a tenner who helped you out without having to think about possibly risking his job.
