I only use two fingers to brake, but if it feels weird why don't you just use four
I have had a pair for a few years now and really like them although they do look a bit crap. ____________________ Yamaha FZR400RR 3tj

I do try braking with two fingers, but it feels very odd.
Maybe having large hands makes it feel that way ____________________ CBT: 04/2010 -> Theory: 09/2010 -> MOD1 & 2: 10/2010 (That's right baby, both on same day)

Just got some HG ones myself. You do get used to them absolutely, I tend to clutch/brake with all 4 fingers. Bit fiddly going into pockets for my work pass to get in the car park though...
Not sure if it's me but I don't find them particularly warm (am i just being a pansy? first winter riding so hard to tell) Got some silk inner gloves though which make them toastier ____________________ '09 YBR 125 -> '92 XJ600 S Diversion -> '99 Hornet 600

I'm seriously considering getting a pair of these Pathan gloves too.
I already have the habit of braking with two fingers rather than all 4, so I think they'll probably suit my riding style without too much difficulty..
VERY tempted to visit my local HG store on the weekend to try out the sizes, then order some online thru fleabay etc ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

Four finger braking is a lot better and reduces your stopping distance IMO.
Anyway my boss had a pair and he said on very windy days, and on his 8 mile commute, he felt the cold, but they are better than normal gloves.
He has muffs now which is a lot better for the wind and cold. ____________________ Hit the G spot. |

I would recommend them.
Used a pair riding into work this morning.
Have used them for the last 2 or is it 3 winters.
I have only had to resort to a pair of silk liners once in that time (it was actually snowing).
They do take some getting used to.
I'd say after 3 or 4 rides they should be ok.
I'd say stick with them, the rewards far outweigh any hassles.

Mine are actually Held ones too. They are very toasty, might need to give them another go ____________________ Harold_Shand wrote: I suppose it's like anything, you get your fingers burned when you start out, you learn from it and eventually become a complete arsehole about the whole thing. |
