Not entirely sure where to put this post but I thought this would be as good as anywhere

As title! Looking at getting an NC30 project, and don't mind going to pick it up but i don't have a van/trailer etc. So I was wondering, obviously it would have to be taken apart, but do people think this would be possible? I'd rather not pay the cost of hiring a van.
It's a 3 door, mk3 clio, can supply pics if needed.

frame and fairings would be the only problem. probably couldn't get them in. since i once tried (and failed) to fit a pedal bike in a corsa C

If someone can fit a GSXR600 in a mk1 clio, I'm sure the tiny NC30 will fit just fine Razz

I managed to fit one in the back of an Escort hatchback, the frame, engine and swingarm were still bolted together, everything else was dismantled.

For the hassle I'd just go and hire a van.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

The bike is a project, so you'll be taking the front end and swinging arm off at some point anyway.

I would take off the tank, nosecone and fairings first and store them in the front of the car. Then take off the front end (disconnect cables and electrics then just undo the top yoke nut and slide out the whole assemble) and the rear wheel. If you need to take off the swingarm arm then do so, but I doubt you will.

Important tip. Drain the oil carbs, then lie it down on its side (gently on an old duvet or similar) for a couple of minutes before loading it into the car. There is likely to be some residual fuel in the carbs that will only drain when the bike is lying down, only about 20 or 30ml, but that's enough to make your car smell strongly of fuel and make you feel light headed.

Bear in mind that your braking distances will increase, you're carrying the weight of two adults over the rear wheels.

I got a CRM250 (tall trailie) in the back of a Ford Escort like this, with some room to spare. Drove it from Bristol to Kent with no ill effects. Took about half an hour to dismantle, allow an hour for the NC30.

Wow, hats off to the guy getting the GSXR in! Just found out as of 2 hours ago that the guy i'm buying it off has a van and have managed to do a deal (FEW!!) But thanks to everyone for the replies, I was starting to sweat last night about the logistics of it, I maybe would have given it a go, but to be honest, I'm very glad to have saved myself the hastle!!

I managed to get my mates ZXR400 in the back of my Peugeot 206.
Cant seem to find the pictures of it now. All that was sticking out was a bit of the rear wheel and subframe.

Tied the bootlid down, drove 50 miles home with it. No problem at all.

Was even room to have both of us sat in the car in the front seats.

Cheers

Ben
