Hi Zene, welcome to the forum.

Now, I don't know about the MTX 125, but on my MZ ETZ301 you just needed to take the side cover off of the engine. The hard part was re-tensioning the spring again. The trick was to clamp the kick start shaft in a vice, fit the engine case over the spline and locate the spring in the hole in the cover, then rotate the cover around 1 and a third turns, and fit the kickstart lever.

I realise that might not apply to the MTX, but if the MTX *is* like that then it'll help you out a lot, cos I tore my hair out for ages trying to fit it back together.

hello, Marjay
Thank you for the quick reply , it really seems like i will have to split the engine, i was looking in to it and i really don't see another way....
the engine came out easy enough but i don't know what way is best to get to the kick start mechanism with out too much work and what special tools i would need???
regards
