Had a bit of a change in the stables..

Got rid of the SV650 + CBF1000, and replaced with a 600Srad + Touno R. The Srad is easy enough to get on with, the Tuono is taking a little bit of getting used to - generally a very happy chappy though !!!

OUT:

Lol - yeah got bored at work and started shopping the pics!!

not sure about the ohlins... was advertised as a factory, haven't really looked into the difference to be honest - would probably be wasted on me!!! of the 5 bikes i've ridden in the last few years i've never bothered setting up suspension etc... wouldn't even know where to start !!

Factory Gold frame and Ohlins.

If you paid factory price for that bike you have been mugged off I'm afraid. However if it was a good price and you are happy with it Thumbs Up

Silver, I think. Pretty brown when Paddy was done with it, though. Razz

Nice bikes Thumbs Up Great choice with both.

Lots of confusion here with Gen 1 and Gen 2 Tuono models.

With the Gen 1 (2003-2005), you had the Tuono Fighter, which had a Mille engine with a few less BHP, downgeared in first and second for wheelies galore. Other than that the cycle parts and suspension were straight off the Mille. Then you had the Tuono R model, which had Ohlins and the Mille engine with the standard superbike gearing, a 'racing' exhaust and carbon fibre bits.

-

For Gen 2 (2006 - 2010), it's pretty simple. All models have the same engine, with the same power, with the same gearing (which is the standard gearing from the RSV1000R sister bike). That aside, there are two versions:

Tuono 1000 R - The 'basic' model. Engine and cycle parts the same as the RSV1000R but for a cheaper (and pretty naff) rear shock.

Tuono 1000 R Factory - The 'bling' model. Exactly the same but for a gold frame, Ohlins shock and forks and forged Marchesini wheels.

-

The bike photographed is a 2006-2007 Gen2 Tuono 1000 R. Exactly the same as blackwolf's but for the colour scheme.

It's the best part of £2000 less valuable than a Factory of the same year.
