enduro bike for when im 17

when i turn 17 i am thinking about doing my test then being able to ride a bike upto 33bhp i would prefer 4 stroke, dont mind age nd i hope to have about 1600, around christmas as i'll be 17 begining of feb, i would want something reliable as i will be using it to go to college which is 20mile away all year round. any help is helpful

First off, I presume you mean a trail bike rather than an actual 'enduro' bike - a 4 stroke enduro bike is very high maintenance (worse than a 2 stroke) and not ideal for daily use.
I would look at a DRZ400 for that sort of money/use.
Go for the 'e' model if you plan on doing some decent off-roading, or the S if you don't really (S model is more road biased, but is a bit heavier).

Technically they make over 33hp, but only by a little bit on paper - I reckon if you suck one on a dyno it may well be under anyway, if not should be easy to make something to drop it back a tiny bit.

deffo get the E model as it has slightly more power stock plus the plastic tank etc, then just do the caliper convo and stick some sm wheels on her.

i take it the drz are good bikes, i waw thinking some more offroad biased as i want to so some lanes n maybe a relaxed enduro or enduro fest or something of the sort

They aren't good at anything really. But they are ok at lots of things.
Go for the 'e' model. It will do you fine at an enduro event, though a lighter bike with better suspension is definitely nicer, it won't be to get you to work daily.
The XR400 is worth considering too and I think may be listed as having 33hp or less.

well ill probs be only using the bike one or two days a week to go to college the rest of the time i willbe 'skanking' a lift off ma dad as i work for him, and im not bothered about gettin ma hands dirty as i have a series 3 landrover nd its nearly rebuilt. whats your opinion on a yam ttr 250?
we have an armstrong mt500 in the shed but thats a pig to start!! and a tad heavy for my liking

TTR is a nice trail bike, but they're expensive for what they are because they're good for short people. I'd go for a DR/XR over one personally.

As extreme example of 4 stroke maintenance for 'serious' enduro bikes; my Husaberg had service intervals listed as 5/10 hours depending on types of riding. There's more to it than that for 'daily' use too - they don't tend to have keys or steering lock and are favoured by a wide range of thieves, for instance.

yer i see where your coming from and your right i was gna get something like a rs125 nd de-restrict it but why bother just a waiste of money when you can get a bigger bike and have a bike as an investment instead of it depreatiatng(cant spell)

And the only thing really to recommend the G650 over a TE610 is the longer service intervals and availability - otherwise it weighs more, has more questionable suspension, a gear less and costs more.
