Well, I have got the RS back briefly, spent most of this year being mechanically overhauled, cost a bit of money so far but I have always liked the RS125 and eventually want a minty fresh one.

So far I don't want to add up the total but, mechanically everything bar the power valve and exhaust is brand new, new power valve going in a week or so.

Being an RS125 it has been down the road at some point, and it has had some paint and new fairings, but it isn't a bad bike, just neglected by a previous owner or two

Only a few pics so far with the phone, will start to use the real camera soon.

Body work has been polished with Menzerna intensive polish and is currently sat under its 8th coat of wax, leaving around 18 hours in between coats

Need to get it fully stripped down first and start cleaning it all up, sadly no before pictures, as I had the phone and it is an arse to use the phone.

Body work dull

Covered in filth

Broken, stone chipped and water stained

After clean and one coat of wax,

Chain and rear sprocket cleaned, was black and manky

Then the metal polish came out

After 6th coat of wax that was taken off

Seats let it down
https://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d112/pitslayer/RS125/IMAG0371.jpg

Nice deep shine, but shame about the scratches, they are too deep to take out with the DA sadly

Painted this afer it had gone grey where keys etc had rubbed all the paint off

Next on list
All fairings off
Some sticker replacement
Clean frame
Mirror polish frame if possible
Powder coat wheels
New screen
New mirrors
New exhaust hanger

Trying to spend more time on it this week stripping it down

Nice work there. Don't forget to put some wax over the menzerna, some colly 476 or similar to seal the polish in.

Good start, I do agree that the seats let it down, get them re-covered. Would probably look better black and they would stay nicer longer that colour too. Thumbs Up

Using Pete's 53 Chemical guys and Nattys paste wax.

The bike is blue and red, very little black on it, I did think about black, but I think it would look slightly odd so may just recover in red.

The paint will always let it down, scratches etc, and the inability to actually use a DA on it to remove the swirling, too many stickers, and I am not going to mask around the stickers if I am going to replace the stickers at some point, so will probably do that after de-stickering then sticker it all back up afterwards.

Want to get a new exhaust for it aswell, something a bit more modern looking

Few better pics

Sticker now removed, not sure if I will replace it, struggling to find the original sticker kit for this online, taken measurements for where it was fitted if I do stick them back on, but really it bears no significance to me as I don't watch bike racing.

Starting to look shiny now though

Don't know not really measured it, think it is around 2300 square feet or 12mx18m, it is in a bit of a state at the moment, plan is the vehicles will be coming out soon though, GP100 is going, Legnum is going, hopefully, Land Rover needs the steering box fixed asap and back on the road.

Land Rover back on the road means I can then put the E34 518i in there and get a bit of major overhaul going on it, brakes, oils, rubbers etc done

Then build a workshop in the top corner, my Beach Buggy and Type 3 fastback will be moving in then for resto, along with the Spitfire, but that will be sold aswell.

Which then means, I can clean the garage at the house out, put the 840CI in there and get down to a mini restoration on it, then strip it all back and get it ready for paint next year, meaning should have a totally mint BMW 840.

I'd build myself a little crash pad in the corner and live in that garage I would.

It is both my secondary garage and workshop really for my business, but it is that big that I can use it for my cars as well, need space in the garage at the house, being a double garage you can't swing a cat in there lol, need space for the 840 and probably 4 bikes.
