Skegness is the nearest biggish town from me and I haven't been there in about four months, and only went then because I HAD to. The place is a hole.

I love skeg-vegas. My sister was a redcoat at skeg butlins, so I used to get free weekends there every now and then. Last time I was there I was at a regional meeting. We went to Flirtz (strip club) and I paid a tenner for some very average looking bird to wave her snatch in my face (couldn't touch though). The company vehicle that was painted up in 'Flirtz' livery and parked outside was a robin reliant! Kinda gives you an idea of how classy it is! The things you do to get a pint after hours on a wednesday!

Went on a short break to Skeggy this year, and I thought it was alright Thumbs Up Smile .

The local vendors at least made some sort of an effort.
For example we ordered bacon rolls from a kiosk and they were not all greasy, they were freshly cooked and came on a proper plate.
they wer`nt that expensive either.

Compare that with Clacton Sad where you`ll more than likley be served by someone smoking a fagg whilst making up your roll with pre-cooked re-warmed bacon.
they will then wrap it in a cheap tissue and say "free quid mate" Sad .

Even the local fishing tackle shop in Skeggy was helpful Thumbs Up .

It`s not all bad in Skeggy Smile , I`d go back.....I think???

Isn't clacton just the retirement resort for old east-end londoners? In which case you shouldn't expect much from southerners!

Great Yarmouth is pretty good, and it has a dog track! Thumbs Up

Skegness was cool. I remember watching the Banger racing, and going down the helter skelter on the rush mats.

Which has totally reminded me, that this last time I went to Brighton with Molly, Redoko et al, was the very first time in my life I've been to the beach and not eaten candy floss... Shocked

Was the Isle of sheppey originally attached to Skegness? It must of broke away and drifted towards Kent at some time as they are very silmilar!
They have a custom in Sheppey, they dont bury their dead, they stand them up in bus stops. Wink

Skegness is quite nice nowadays. Ingoldmells, on the other hand, is an absolute shithole...
