Do you know if it uses a source coil? Ie. the movement of the engine powers the ignition rather than the battery if you get what i mean???
It was the same on my Gs 125, we changed the ignition system to that of a later model which uses the battery and i assume its still running Thumbs Up

Actually, just read what i wrote. Probably doesn't make much sense Laughing

Do you have a wiring diagram for the bike?

I had a Z200 for years, great little bike, as reliable as a water wheel, never let me down. 1= The switch on the RH handlebar not in the "OFF" position is it ? (I know this sounds daft but it's happened).2= Have the ignition 'points' closed up ?. 3= Check the connections from the coil into the wiring loom. 4= Remove the spark plug cap, hold the HT lead 3mm from the head, press the starter and then see if you've got a spark these things dont last forever. 4= The condenser could be 'rubber-ducked', these usually fail when the engine gets hot and then work again when it cools down. Try these tips then come back to us, Regards.

I thought that the Z200 was a points ignition system, can remember when they first came out, dont remember the having C.D.I's.
