I have a low mileage fz6, not had it long so i dont know loads about it.

I had no issues whatsoever untill I fitted headed grips.
The morning after i fitted the grips, I rode 5 miles to work, grips on full.
After work, rode 1.5 miles to fuel up with the grips on full.
Grips and engine off whilst fuelling.

Bike wouldnt start, but did bump start.

Then I rode the bike 12 miles, grips off to try to charge the battery.

3 days later - last night, I started the bike and ran it for 10 mins (no grips) to warm the engine as I was going to do an oil change.

Now oil change time (needed a filter tool), flat battery again. Bump started.

Can the battery be totally screwed or is more likely just never got its charge back?

cheers

Can you not run them through a relay to shut them off if the battery power gets too low?

Also the cold can zap a batteries power

give the battery a full charge, then ride for a couple of days with no grips. i.e. physically disconnect them

Then ride with your grips and you'll soon find out whether your grips are an issue.

Cold can kill a battery, esp if you leave it outside.
