...in electricity.

To heat, filter/pump and light it?

Considering getting my old tank up and running again. It's around 100litres if my memory serves me correctly. 36 " x 12" x 18".

Any ball park figures on a monthly increase to your bill would be grand. Thumbs Up

about the same as burning 1 - 2 x 100w lights
I take it it has a floro lamp which is generally 40 - 60 watts and the heater
if you fill the tank with warm water to start with it will only require a small amount of power to keep the temp up
it may be a bit more say 150w if you have a powerful filter and or air pump
but those are generally low wattage 30 - 50 watts but I doubt it will be any more than 200w in total

About £12 per month tops.

It can all vary, if you only have the light on 6hours a day, as opposed to the full 8-9hrs most have it will be cheaper. The heater isn't much of a problem as that only kicks in when the water drops below a certain temp.

I don't think it will be £12 a month, that is quite pricey. I doubt you'll even notice it in the bills, you could try cut back elsewhere if you're really worried.

The filter in my 125L is only a couple of Watts. The large, 3,000L/hr pump in the pond is only 60Ws.

Add in a couple of strip lights for a few hours and it'll be <100Ws most of the time, with the heater on for a small amount sometimes.

The amount of heating depends on the temperature of the room.

Not sure but check the wattage of your bulbs.

Unlikely to be halogen and at 100 litres, most likely 28 W or something.

The heater isn't much either, maybe 6 quid a month at a guess. 20P a day!
