The only thing I've seen wrong with them is that the are pretty big for 125cc bikes, the fairing makes it look pretty big and probably the fairing puts people off. Drop a CG it costs a couple quid to fix drop a CBF and you've got the plastics and the FI sensors to replace. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. I had one, and it was fine.
Dropped it once, and only the bar ends got mark, other than it cool.
Got it in april, brand new, so its been through all types of weather and never rusted a bit. (I never treated it with anything to stop rust)
It's suppose to be the replacement for the CG, which seems funny as it so much bigger, but same engine.
I think that dealers bought loads in bulk, but they never really sold too much, which is why there are so cheap now I guess. ____________________ CBT: 04/2010 -> Theory: 09/2010 -> MOD1 & 2: 10/2010 (That's right baby, both on same day)

Different engine. The CG had a OHV pushrod, the CBF has a much more modern OHC. The inability to make the CG pushrod meet Euro 4 emissions was the deciding factor in killing it off.
I quite like the look of the CBF, but I can see why it might have a problem finding a market. It looks like they started designing a sports bike, then wimped out.
OK, it does look a little bit like a mini half-faired CBF600, but that just means that it'll tend to appeal to people who really want to move onto a 600. Like most 'styled' 125s (also sports, cruisers), I suspect it's a 'just passing through' machine.
The beauty of the CG (and YBR) is that stylistically they say "Look, I'm a cheap, basic commuter with no delusions. Want to make something of it?" The CBF looks more apologetic, like it's trying to be something it's not.
Also, it spilled your pint, and it was chatting up your bird. |
