I think recent bikes usually have high rear ends.
It looks good but
-when attaching top box, the box is too high, and it worsen the mobility when you lean the bike left and right.
So I do not like high rear end design.

ZX10R is all right but why should Z1000SX have high rear end?
Z1000SX should have flat seat like an old CBR600F in my opinion but what do you think?

Afraid I think the high rear ends on most modern bikes look pretty awful. The 916 seemed to start it and looked bad enough from it (not a fan of the 916 styling), but current bikes are far worse.

Possibly why when wandering round the bike show there were few bikes than appealed.

All the best

Keith

My XJ was made in 1983 and has the opposite problem. It is so low that if you put bungee chords across the underneath of the mudguard to attach a tailpack the back tyre frays them.

I think the handling would definitely benefit on uneven surfaces if the rear end was jacked up a bit, however on a well surfaced road it handles well and is very comfy.
