I had one for my first bike and it was a great introduction to riding. Big and comfy, lovely sound from the vtwin and scorpion pipe but struggled at anything over ~65. Trying to convince my brother to get one when he does his cbt so I can ride one again |

The only drawback with mine was that I couldn't get past the 50mph-in-a-60 mob without a good long straight (although sometimes the height lets you see over hedges etc and go when it'd be silly in a car). Oh, and it struggled to keep a good speed up these Welsh hills (I'm 16 stone BTW ).
It was expensive to buy, but the trade-in was high too
The Bandit does overtake fine @33bhp; I'd really like more choice of bikes in the 250-400cc range for commuting. ____________________ Honda Varadero 125cc => Suzuki Bandit 650 33bhp => 77bhp =>

Or, for the same money, you could probably pass* your test, then buy something a DR600 which weighs less and has maybe three times the power .
* Not sure on the reasoning of buying one if you haven't. |

The Varadero has like, 3 more horse power than the CG and the CG let me get up to 60MPH in 4th gear if I had to, so I'm sure you could have gotten up to 60 faster if you had to. Anyway.

I think it's because some people will just really like the bike and it satisfies 90% of their biking needs (probably commuting). I love the bike and Honda basically do the 4 variations; the 125 varadero, 680cc ~ transalp, similar africa twin and the varadero 1000cc.
The other more powerful versions can be pretty expensive. ____________________ will never give up his CG. I look at my fuel gauge more as a progress bar than a fuel gauge.
G: With my GSXR I do often effectively use it as a scooter with a clutch in town.
ms51ves3: why does it need 500 miles? Are you teaching it how to be a piston? |

I wouldn't say loads. I know of the Hyosung GT125? |
DT125, DT125X, WR125, WR125X, CRM125, KMX125, KDX125, TDR125, MZ125SM, XR125 and many others.
I'm talking big in riding position for the taller rider, not unnecessarily heavy to make to slower. |

I sat on many, many 125 bikes - the Varadero was the only one that seemed like a serious commuting proposal and felt "right".
If they did a 250-400cc version (33bhp and decent torque), I'd buy one in a flash. ____________________ Honda Varadero 125cc => Suzuki Bandit 650 33bhp => 77bhp =>
