Hi!
I've got a similar problem - I've never been in Outer Space, yet I worry about how to clean my visor when I am up there? Anyone got any advice? |

Cheapest way is to use the stuff from the oil change. Get a paintbrush, paint it on.
The disadvantage with using oil rather than a dedicated chain lube is that it's quite thin, so you don't want to put too much on, and you'll need to reapply it pretty regularly. It'll fling as well, so might make your rear wheel a bit grubby. As far as I can tell, any oil (within reason!) will work for chains, subject to the fling/reapplication points.
On the upside, you've already paid for oil from the oil change it so it's costing you nowt!
2 strokes need gearbox oil, the gearbox in most (and I stand to be corrected!) 4 strokes is lubricated with the engine oil. ____________________ '11 CBF1000A, '99 C90, '98 CB500
