Yet another puncture. Waiting to be rescued. Who puts sealant in their Tyres and does it really work?
I'm not keen on using it at every change due to the added costs but being sat here like this fairly regularly is pissin me off ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? I carry a plugging kit but find the avons don't take them very well, thinking slime or similar would stop them as they happen and remove the need to try a plug. If it's going to cost £25 a set thats another £150+ a year i'm going to have to spend on stopping puncyures.
Plugged this one and made it home, tyre soft on arrival home. ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? I thought this type of sealant coated the tyre and sealed a leak as it happened. ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? Does sound like there's something not quite right if you're getting regular punctures. Either a faulty rim or you've upset a neighbour |

How many sets of tyres do you go through? A set every 8 weeks |

He, yes about every 6/8 weeks for a set of tyres.
| chris-red wrote: | I can't understand why some people always get punctures, I reckon I have clocked up 60k miles on various bikes and only ever had 2 punctures (the second being last night.) I have never had to be recovered for it either, first time I rode to a garage and bought some tyre weld which sealed it. Last night I filled it up and it lasted the journey home. Both punctures have been on the front too which I also believe is less common than the rear. Most of my riding is the A13/Streets of London, which aren't know to be clear of road debris. |
I think these avon tyres i use now break up too easily once punctured, really does knacker the carcass and even if you were lucky enough to get a plug to seal properly the area around it bulges once inflated.
The bridgestones i used to use plugged more readily but don't handle as well and cost more per mile.
Tried 2 tins of tyreweld and a plug on a tyre on the way to manchester a few months back, got me there in stages and some of the way back but gave up eventually on the side of the road with a smoking tyre.

I'd gone from home (salisbury) to London to Bristol and was nearly at Portsmouth when it went, took 3/4 mins to go down so wasn't the neighbours, if they had a problem it'd be more likely a 12 bore to the block than anything.
In the sticks out here, have you seen hot fuzz?

This is quite likely, i'm not one to sit in the traffic ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse?
