Fuel pump filters. Clean them out, all in all there are seven of them. Three in the picture and one in the top of each injector. Expect to find them clogged with a brassy coloured goo, especially the small dome filter in the pump and the round plastic screen one. The paper one you can really ignore.
I'm guessing you have an early 'busa with 15-20k miles on it. That's whenn they usually clog up. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

Actually, now I've re-read your post, it souinds more like fuel lines. They are a 4-yearly replacement item so if you have the original then I bet one of them is kinking when it gets hot. Replace them (they are not much to buy) as they are a superceded item, and do the filters while your at it. Also change the fuel pump fuse from 10a to 15 or it'll blow and leave you stranded soon after you do the filters (don't ask me why I have no idea but it catches load out including yours truly). ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

Bits of fuel pump. Sliding vane pump though so self-compensating, it works fine once cleaned out. The late 2000 bikes got a different part number so didn't suffer it. Trouble is the 'busa wasn't a great early seller due to the price of bikes at the time so a lot of the early 99 bikes got a 2000 plate, like mine. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

No problems.
Don't rip off the heat shield foam and throw it away like many do, you'll have vapour-locking problems in hot weather if you do. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

That white plastic housng just comes out with a sharp tug using pliers. Watch out though cos the filter is spring loaded behind it.
Inside the rear housing where the fuel pipes are, there's another plastic sleeve you can pull out. In the end of that there is a plastic screen filter that is removable. That is the one that is most likely to be blocked.
Inside that little hole should be a brass gauze dome filter. If it's not there then a previous owner has removed it. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'
