It's very easy to do your test then splash a bit of cash to get a flash R6.
Just make sure to get your organ donor card with it.
I did it and lived to tell the tale but I was lucky and there were a few moments when my life could easily have been cut short.
I now enjoy my biking at a more sedate pace. ____________________ Current ride - Yamaha MT-07 |

I went from owning nothing, only doing lessons/test on a YBR125 to owning a CBR600F. Not quite an R6 but still pretty hefty.
I'm still alive. It's all about not being a moron, basically. ____________________ Willson - "If you go out on that CBR600 in the winter, you're going to do more miles on your side than on your wheels."

Help needed, which 600cc bike to buy as my first bike ?
Its not exactly 'lost' in the depths of the forum....
I said on there, 600 Sports-Bikes aren't a great idea for many people to begin with.
Even for an 'expert' rider, they are not the most rewarding bikes to ride.
They only do one thing, and thats go fast... and they do it bludy well....
But mostly they are all about offering the race-replica cudos of ownership and massaging thier owners egos.
Almost any idiot can go quick on one, becouse thay are so good, so it dont give you much to boast about with your mates, doing what they do on them... unless they are similar idiots....
And all they do is encourage you to go quicker, and quicker, more and more often to get the speed fix they deliver in ever smaller measures, until....
well, they are like heroine.... trips pretty wild the first time, but, keeps you coming back for more and more until giving less and less each time, until it kills you...
There are hundreds bikes out there, that can do everything the 600-sports will, and SO much more.. and an awful lot of them are even newbie freindly.... but hey... if you must you must... and if thats where you want to begin, I'm sure you'll be very happy, becouse you just wont even KNOW that there is so much more to biking, and riding can be so much more fun..... ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!
Current Bikes:'Honda VF1000F' ;'CB750F2N' ;'CB125TD ( 6 3 of em!)'; 'Montesa Cota 248'. Learner FAQ's:= 'U want to Ride a Motorbike! Where Do U start?' |

Why not, if it's the bike you really want. I got a VFR800 after my DAS, and I've yet to regret 5000 miles later. As others have said, it doesn't matter what bike you are riding, you can be unsafe on anything. Yes, the R6 has a reputation as being one of the more unforgiving 600s, so perhaps a little more restraint will be required until you are used to the power delivery. NSR125 to a Fireblade and I have only died twice thus far. I think that counts as a success?
