Piaggio Zip 2009 2T Question

Hi

The battery in my Piaggio Zip 50 2009 2T is totally dead as in it will not hold any charge.

When you turn on the ignition normally the oil and fuel lamps light up briefly then go out if the battery is holding a charge.

With my bike the oil and fuel lamps are staying lit and they are sort of flickering ie they never go out.

I presume this is because the battery is not holding charge. At first I thought the oil was genuinely low but when I tried to fill it up I overfilled it and oil went everywhere.

In other words the oil is def not low. Is it definetely the battery causing this behaviour?

I took the Zip out for a long ride today and the oil and fuel lamps went out after awhile and now the battery is holding a charge. It is still knackered though and will need replacing but at least I know it was the battery causing the lights to stay on.
