What do you want to apply heat to?
If for example you are trying to get studs out of a head for then a small cooking torch wont be up to it, the heat just gets sapped away too quickly by the aluminium of the head (been there done that ). Haven't had much success with anything less than oxyacetylene on studs.
If you are trying to heat up very small areas, do heat shrinking etc then a wee butane cooking torch might be ok. A propane torch will be better (DIY blowtorches etc) for stuck/seized stuff and used in conjunction with freeze and release spray you would have more luck. For general wide area heating at highish temperatures an electric heat gun might be more suitable. |
