i want options for my front forks......

with the bike being stood for near on 12 years there is some pretty heavy pitting on the forks and some is low down and will affect the seals,

i dont want to just chuck gators on, i want to do the job right so i was thinking new or rechroming,

problem with new is where to get them.

any ideas links or alternatives would be helpful....

Mega limited options.
There is a Dutch site https://www.cmsnl.com/ they stock some old parts.
David Silvers and more than likely your best and affordable option is E-ghey.

Not done the araldite bodge myself and heard rechroming can be expensive, that's if your stantions are exceptable i.e No deep rust.

Hard Chroming on the forks is about £150 wherever you try. We looked long and hard for Snowies project, new forks are a deleted part for the 125 Super Dream and there isn't an interchangeable on on another lightweight as far as we can find, hence only option.
Knowing Yamaha, I suspect that the stancions are possibly not unobtainable new, and may be cheaper than rechrome if you can find them, and possibility they are used on another model and interchangeable with something else. Start by trying to track down the part number and seeing what goes from it.

I bought some from there, not really impressed TBH, nowhere near OEM quality. They have a year warranty, within a year both had pitted. They where really arsey about taking them back and when they did they rechromed them that took 3 weeks. 3 weeks with the bike off the road + the amount of time spent rebuilding them and the cost of new seals etc. After another year they started to pit again up the top, I have put a set of fork gators on to attempt to stop this and am keeping my eyes open for a second hand OEM set.

IMO keep an eye out for a decent set of Second hand ones, what Bike is it?

I used Mark 1 TZR 125 forks on my RD 125lc. I picked them up from ebay for around £60.00 with a top and bottom yoke this was only about a year ago.

That will be far cheaper than getting a re chrome as i looked into it for my RD !

There will be no point looking for Rd forks, they are more expensive than tzr stuff, this is why I got tzr forks.

Edit: If you do go looking for RD forks, They MUST be the RD 125LC MK 2 or 3 forks. Mk1 are different !
