The chain will have done that. The rubber is there to stop it knocking lumps out of the swingarm.
The chain can hit it in normal running when you go over a big bump and the suspension unloads all the way making the chain much slacker than normal. If it's rubbing a lot, your chain tension is probably set too loose. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen.
