Fastest current is any gods amount of them. GSXR1000, Busa, Fireblade, R1, ZX9R yadda yadda. All restricted to around 190mph. Although the MV augusta hits around 196 before the restrictor kicks in I think

IIRC the Busa is the most powerful in terms of BHP pushing around 160 at the rear wheel.

Fastest accelerating I think is either the MV or the Busa. But Not too sure on that one.

I read that the 2010 Kawasaki ZZR14 is meant to be the most powerful at 206bhp or 154 kw with Ram-Air. (stated on their website)

but... The 2010 Kawasaki ZX10R also produces 154 kw or 206bhp with Ram-Air (stated on their website)

Without Ram-Air, the ZZR14 produces 149.5kw (200bhp) as standard, the ZX10R produces 147kw (197bhp)

The S1000RR was at 193bhp or 142 kw (stated on BMW's website)

It is classed as a production motorcycle I think, the y2k. Runs a Rolls-Royce jet engine. Think it did something like 242? Have a look for a video, I'm on my phone.

ZX10R - without ABS is 198kg, with ABS is 201kg.
ZZR14 - 261kg

The ZX10R has more bhp per tonne even with it's ABS.

A lot comes down to the rider, especially for initial acceleration. When you are talking about dozens of bikes all with 0-60 times of around 3 seconds, a small difference between different runs let alone different riders makes a massive difference.

Power to weight is important, but only if your rider can get the power down on that bike without having to have the throttle half closed to stay in control.

I think my 1200 Bandit has a claimed 0-60 in some magazines of 2.9 seconds. Playing with a performance GPS system I know how difficult it is to get much below 4 seconds.

For top speed aerodynamics are important.

All the best

Keith

Is this true...

The name Vyrus may not be familiar to motorcycle enthusiasts when they begin reading this article, but by the end of it, there’s every chance it will be at the top of their list of “dream bikes.” The small Rimini-based Italian company is currently best known for producing the Bimota Tesi 2D, but the company's new, top-of-the-range, Vyrus 987 C3 4VV naked superbike is just about to propel it to even greater world renown, leapfrogging past a gaggle of superbikes to become the most powerful production motorcycle in the world. It's more powerful than Ducati’s Desmosedici RR, MV Agusta’s F4 312RR, Suzuki’s Hayabusa or Kawasaki’s ZZR1400. The hub-centre-steered Vyrus runs a 211 bhp supercharged 1198cc 1098R Ducati engine, weighs just 158 kg.

From teh interwebs.
