okay mate i did this a few months ago but on a ped, but i guess its the same steps

basically take the starter motor side off so you can see the belt ect
then you will need an air gun or some special tools to knock the variator nut off. you need an air tool because the variator spins with the nut.

once you have done that take the variator off and drop the rollers out and put the knew ones in, job done.

with the belt i think its a bit different to when i did mine, so i wont say anything to confuse you, just goolgle it or something its simple so you should be able to work it out yourself Smile

make sure you remember how it goes back together Very Happy hope that helps.

Right, to do the rollers you first remove the transmission case (the bit with the kick start lever on it) Then you use an impact wrench to remove the nut, you have to use an impact wrench as if you try to use a socket it will just turn the variator and when your doing it up again if you dont tourque it enough it will just fly off messing up your transmission. Once youve taken the nut off you need to carefully remove the variator, I say carefully because there is a spring behind it called the contra and it will shoot off or even fling the variator into your face if your not careful.

Once you have the variator off you need to unbolt the back, remove the rollers and fit the new ones. If you get the rollers wrong you will either loose top end or loose acceleration and the bike will be revving its nuts off so make sure you know what your doing. Once you have the new rollers in you need to do the back of the variator up again and put it back on the shaft with the contra behind it. FINGER TIGHTEN THE NUT FIRST so as not to cross thread the crank (Very bad!) and then use the impact driver to do it up again but make sure its not too tight as again, you will damage the crank.

Once its done you can put the case back together and take it for a ride.

Changing the belt is very easy and this video should explain it pretty well:

If you don't feel confident doing it yourself I suggest you take it to a garage and ask to watch them so you know what to do next time. Better spend a bit more money then ruin your bike and end up spending an absolute fortune on repairs.

Contra spring is in the rear variator not the front one Thumbs Up so no risk of hitting yourself in the mush.

When you are refitting the belt you will need to pull the rear pulley open so the belt sit further down the ramps (as if revved right up) so that the belt is loose at the front pulley end giving you clearance between the belt and front pulleys otherwise you risk tightening the pulley against the belt.

It's best not to use an impact driver to tighten the pulley up as you risk damaging the crankshaft,

If you dont have access to a pulley holding tool you could get a chain/strap wrench around the flywheel and get someone to hold it solid for you to torque the variator nut to the correct settings.

Some flywheels have threaded holes designed for a puller, if you carefulley thread a few bolts into these holes "no deeper than the thickness of the metal as you risk damaging the stator coils" then thread a few bolts into the engine cover bolt holes and lock them together with a bar of metal you should be abled to tighten the varator nut no problem, the bolts will probably bend a little so don't use important ones.
