Just had a calliper rebuild and had new pads fitted on bandit and brakes squeak when any amount of pressure is applyed. Is this normal for new pads or is it likely to be caused by something else?

Try smearing copper grease on the backs of the pads - will stop them resonating which is likely to be causing the squeaky sounds, or so the theory says. Also clean out your disc if it's got holes in, get a drill bit that matches the diameter of the holes and get rid of all the crud that builds up. Thumbs Up

if it's the old pads you are still using try putting swapping them over (left one on the right side etc), try giving them a little sand with rough paper to remove the top layer of pad.... maybe try giving the disk a light rub too.

I've done the sanding part a few times and it works better than brake cleaner
