Hi guys. Ive got an aprilia rs 125 with a very stuck powervalve. Ive managed to lever it out about 5 mm but it won't budge any further. I've even managed to snap a screwdriver so far.

I've tried to get it out after a long ride in the hope that a hot engine will help but no luck. Ive soaked in in wd40 for a day and also some other penetrating spray. Nothing.

I might try using a blowtorch to heat it up and see if that helps.

So has anyone got a magical solution on how to get it out or any other knowledge that might help?

Thanks, Daryl.

keep on with the wd40, petrol etc and it will eventually come out. Can you get something like a feeler gauge into the gap to try and free it up a bit?

The rs powervalves always stick, especially if they have been run rich Thumbs Up

Good luck

Hi

Possibly the least risky way (as the power valves have a habit of snapping) is to take the barrel off so you can carefully knock the valve out from below.

All the best
