if it physically fits... is the first question.
after that, should work fine.
just stores more charge, so it will take longer to charge up, and longer to go flat.
BIG question though is the cranking amps and other rates.
Basically three grades of lead accid battery.
- Deep Cycle
- Standard Car
- Leisure / Alarm
Capacity of each can be the same, but its thier tolerence to rapid discharging that makes the difference.
Leisure / alarm batteries have very big reserves, but expect a very long draw rate, alarms for instance powering no more than an LED until triggered.
Car battery is expected to deliver a bit more, powering lights, radio & equipment, BUT BIG draw when you start the engine from the starter motor. Starter motor can take completely charged 90Ah battery, and flatten it in perhaps ten minutes continiouse cranking.... doing that repeatedly would 'kill' the battery very quickly.
Hence 'Deep Cycle' batteries which are used for things like winches and high power devices that take lots of amps very quickly, and get charged just as quick, repeatedly, and would 'kill' normal batteries.
SO.... bigger battery would be fine, but if it is a leisure battery or alarm battery that doesn't have the cranking amps capability you need, every time you start the engine, you'll suck the battery dry and 'tire' the plates in it, which will kill it quite quickly.
so if it pysically fits, and has cranking amps, should be OK. ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!
