Benley covers a long production history and wide range of ignition system changes.
Is it points or CDi model?
6v or 12v?
Start with echecking the plug caps, then the HT leads, then the Coil, & working back through the system.

It has a 12v battery so guess 12 volt system when I take side cover off there is a single pick up and a rotor does that meen it's cdi?

Yes.
And its pretty robust, so if you DO have a spark drop out, its likely to be the CDI unit, or the coil, or teh HT Lead, or a misileniouse earth.
However, benley motors, carburettor problems can often present like sparks.
What carb has it got on it?
Can you be more specific in the symptoms?

I suspect it has the CV carb on it.... and its perished or got a tear in the diagphram!
But by remote control... wont bet on it!
Look at that carb though, cos pointing more that way!

I would go along with what Mike says.
The diaphragm may have hardened or have holes in it.

should look something like this.
Sounds to me like you have taken the float bowl off the bottom, not looked at the slide, which if its the CV carb, which I believe it ought to be on later 12v CDI Benley, is controlled by a diagphram. (Part 8 in the pic)

As for loosing one spark.... well, the Benley is a 360 twin, both pistons ride and fall in unison, and there is a single spark trigger, becouse it fires every rev, sparking both pots at the same time, via a common coil.

When piston aproaching TDC on compression, and spark occurs, in one pot, lighting the fire for teh combustion stroke, the other pot is coming up on the exhaust stroke, with the exhaust valve open, and exhaust gasses in the cylinder that the spark in that pot wont light. Its called 'lost spark' ignition.

So there isn't really much to cause a timing fault on just one cylinder.

CB125's I have, have 180 cranks one piston up, one piston down, so they cant have common lost spark ignition, they have to have two individual ignition circuits, one for each pot, to time them to the right firing intervals, but on your bike, not so. Its very simple.

And I'd still suspect that carburettor, first.
