I have a standard SV650s (newest shape) and im thinking of changing my exhaused to something with a bit of grunt. I was just wondering if anyone on here as changed there exhaust on a SV and what they thought of it. will changing the exhaust give me any more power??? I want it road legal still though |

I had my standard exhaust chopped in half, it sounded and looked amazing...and sailed through every single MOT thereafter with no bother whatsoever. ____________________ Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind - Dr. Seuss |

I changed mine for a blueflame one on my pointy, the noise was fantastic if Im honest but didnt notice any power increase. Cutting through the link pipe was a bit worrying but it had to be done

I had a Pipe Werx full-length carbon can from eBay, pretty cheap too, the link is here. I know it's not Carbon but if you call them they will make you it to order, it's only £200 delivered or so and it'll be with you in days.
The guy who did my MOT at Bristol's biggest MOT centre said it was by far the best sounding SV650S he'd ever heard.
It has a really low grumble at idle/low revs just like a V-twin but once the revs step up it sounds like a V4/low IL4 scream.
It was fantastic, I'm giving it to a BCF member actually.
However, do remember that to fit an aftermarket exhaust on an SV650 or SV650S you have to cut through the exhaust pipe just after the fairing as there is no other way to remove the standard exhaust can. It's a 10 minute job with a hacksaw or a 2 minute job with an angle grinder. .
As for power, with some exhausts a lot of SV650s tend to run lean/rich but it's no problem at all, you may get a couple bhp too.

Cheap, well built, so much so I even put another one on the Bandit and its weathering well after 4+ years every day all year use. |

As Clanger said, your original post was that a single make of exhaust is the best with no facts or figures to back that up.
Your reply then further backed up your opinion-based 'facts' with further opinions. . Somehow I think neither you nor the entirety of SV.org is able to make a blanket statement on what is the best exhaust for an SV650.
I have no 'beef' with you at all, by all means suggest that Beowulf are good exhausts and a lot of people think likewise, but the statement "Beowulf exhausts are by far the best sounding exhaust on an SV" is in no way fact and to believe that your own opinion is fact is silly and makes a mockery of personal preferences.
I'm being very facetious today. ____________________ "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul."

The first thing you must do when you fit a can to a SV is remove that baffle and find a tunnel, the longer the better
Carbon Can Company for mine but they warned me against carbon, they said V twins destroy them... So I bought stainless.
