Right here goes,
Most of you will know the honda pumper type carbs.
Could i run a spur from the fuel line, down a pipe, into a small squish type pump which is pressed by the throttle when its wide open which pushes extra fuel to a jet on the back of the carb into the air intake?
More to the point, would it give me a better wide open throttle response?
Even more to the point the delorean will only fire into the future if it reaches 88mph!... Ohh sorry wrong movie
Yea anyway... Any opinions?

Ok on my bike i have a set of CB900 Custom carbs that are fitted with the accelerator pump. It draws fuel out of float chamber 2 at a set rate so giving it its own fuel supply probably wouldn't make any difference, it can only pump so much. As far as i know the pump system was originally meant for the US market, where they had tighter emmision controls than we had here. If your bike doesn't have one yet you should notice better acceleration (have run mine on the type with and without), but also an increase in fuel consumption.
Had an xv750 that used a vacume valve that did a similar thing, but it would draw fuel from the tank and dump it into the carb/engine mounting(on cylinder 1#), think the v-max had a similar set up, so if you want increased performance that set up may be worth a try - if it could be made to fit. Hope thats of some help. ____________________ XX XXXx
