Hi All,

I've found a place that will fit a rear BT45 for me for £77 but they will only do it to a loose wheel.

So the plan is to ride there with some tools, remove it for them, get them to fit the tyre and then refit the wheel.

Is there anything that I could expect to go wrong, and is there some tools that I will definitley need. Othere than a socket, breakers bar, and a torque wrench?

Have you taken it off yourself before? If not definitely have a go before you go so you know you can do it with your tools. Sometimes something to knock the axle through is useful.

Take note of where any spacers go with respect to any other bits, in fact, what I do is thread any bits the spindle goes through, back on to the spindle in the order they go on, and the right way around. The CB500 has a drum brake doesn't it? You might find you can get the brake plate out without having to remove it from the torque arm, if you're careful, and avoid having to put a new split-pin through the bolt, if it uses one. Thumbs Up

If it's a disc rear brake, something to push the pistons back in with (either levering them against the back of a pad or wind them in with a g-clamp).

EDIT: And a pair of latex gloves because you'll be messing with the chain.
