Just got a klx 650 its m reg. (1995)
its off my uncle it was running mint before it was stood for few month.
whilst stood for few month it was started up every few week till engine warmed up then turned engine off once warm.
well i bought it of him yesterday and just brought it home and put it away as it was to late to start up as i have elderly people living close by and bikes loud with arrow exhaust sysytem.
down to the problem...
it starts up and idles nice but there a lot of petrol constantly coming out the overflow pipe.
ive had carb off cleaned jets and flaot seems to be doing its job.
after having good look at carb and putting it back on the bike, its still leaking petrol from the overflow pipe.
another thing is theres 2 things on the carb where you put petrol pipe on that comes of petrol tap.
well petrol pipe can only go on one i put it on the top one but the bottom one dont have nothing going on it
and the airbox uner the rear mudguard theres a pipe coming off going to no where but it looks like it should go somewhere
thanks for reading the big story haha.
any info will be decent..will get pics up tomorrow

This should be in workshop, but the other spigot on the tap is probably a vacuum hose and should attach to the vacuum take off on the carb, though I'm not sure why it's even getting petrol at all without the vacuum pipe connected.

theres just one pipe going to carb and thats the one from the petrol tap.
theres 2 pipes that come from tank to tap then one from tap to carb.
the vacuum part i think sits on the top of the carb well thats got a plug over it.
i will get some pics up now then it will help..

My GN250 leaks fuel from the carb when its parked up due to float not being set right so it floods the petrol chamber in the carb till it comes out the overflow.

check the float level is correct

There are VERY few reasons as to when you need a new carb, are things seized in it? has the body got structural damage? No? Then you don;t need a new carb, get a haynes book of similar and make sure the float height is correct and it is working properly/not sticking.

well this is what i think problem is..

look at in the picture above the black thing you put your petrol pipe on well theres one below it that no pipe goes to but it looks like a pipe should go there but once a pipe goes there where does the over end of the pipe go.
whats the vacuum pipe on my carb???
theres one pipe that goes to my carb and thats the one from petrol tap.

so i put it back on the bike turned petrol on and its just pissing out the overflow pipe when bike started or not

theres 2 on ebay at £40 is it worth me buying one.something not right in this carb and i cant find no info on what it is but can find people with same problem.

Have you checked that the floats actually float, the condition of the float valve needle, and that the needle height is set properly?
