Hi, my piagio 50cc will only start when cold if the throttle is wound wide open and the starter engaged for about 30seconds for 2 or 3 times. Auto choke ok, Auto petrol tap new, jetted up to 72 and needle altered 1 notch, new race can fitted, please help before starter wears out.

I assume you've tried to kick start it?

A 72 jet sounds far too high. Are you sure your not flooding it?

Do a plug chop. It could be that its running far too rich or it could just be that your plug's fowled. Look at it and change it. See if it makes a difference.

As computid says 72 sounds like a far too large jet size as I believe these run a 56 standard? If it's only running the exhaust you only need to increase around 10%.

My freind has a piaggio NRG with a 70 kit and a sports pipe and hes running a 72 jet which is slightly rich for him!

You need too sort your jetting out first really!

Cheers for that, I will change jetting, would I have to put the needle back to original position. Where can I get a single 62 or slightly higher jet from, I don't really want to buy a jet pack with loads of jets.

Yes change it back and if it doesn't feel right, put it back as it is now. Or in reverse, unfortunately it's trial and error.
