I have just moved house and my bike was in storage for around a month before it was brought over and it wont start now. I recharged the battery, checked the plugs (all clean and dry) drained the carbs and checked the fuses and it still wont start.

Now im thinking that there is no fuel going into the carbs now as the fuel house that leads into the carbs doesnt appear to have petrol in it when i disconect the cable from the carbs.

forgot to say this is for a kawasaki zx7r. Any suggestions on what to try?

had to be sods law that the bike that has tax, mot and insurance is the bike that wont start and the bike that has none of those starts first time Sad

Try removing the petrol cap and then try to start it, if it runs ok then you most likely have a blocked tank breather

There may be a push button near or on the tap to bypass the vacuum valve and allow the fuel to flow and fill the carbs

One it runs it'll work as long as the valve and pipe are both ok

The tank has at least 5 litres in it as i thought this was the problem so filled up a jerry can. Still wouldnt start, sucked the fuel hose and some petrol came out but only a tiny bit, fuel tap is fine since i pulled the hose out petrol came out. So i think the fuel pump just isnt doing anything now. Any way to find out if this is indeed the cause of the problem?
