dt 125 indicator/hazards problems???

Im back again with more dt issues lol. I have found that my indicators work fine until I try to put the hazards on lol

If I switch my hazards on all indicators do a quick half blink, then nothing! Its like they are tripping out, then when I try my turn switch nothing happens. Then what I have to do is press the middle (off/reset) button 3 or 4 times and they work again, until I try my hazards and it repeats the same cycle. MOT time is near and Im out of ideas!!

I have traced the wires back to the coupler for the left hand switch and all indicator wires. I have found that one side is dark green + black and the other is brown and black. If I unplug the brown or dark green, it knocks out the relevant side but the side that remains working suddenly works for the hazards. This is the same for both sides. So I can have L indicators and hazards or R indicators and hazards, or L & R indicators with no hazards!!!!

Not sure if it makes any difference to working out what is wrong, but first off I have fixed the clutch switch problem. What that was doing was the same thing but when the clutch switch was activated as the clutch engaged. It would also 'trip' the indicator system and the middle would have to be pushed 3 or 4 times to reset. The way I found solved this was to unplug the clutch switch coupler and it is fixed.

Has anyone got any suggestions as to why this is? (on a side note I don't currently own a multimeter) THANKS in advance

Most likely explanation is that your battery is not as clever as it once was and can't supply enough current to operate 4 bulbs plus the flasher unit.

Thanks Finpos, but my battery is new , although may not be fully charged so I'll try that. Only thing is it still has this problem with the engine running???

Easiest way to find out is to use a car battery - otherwise charge the one you have. Engine running will only help at rpm over approx 5000 (i.e. Not at idle)
