I am under the illusion that the Sach XTC 125 project is all but done and will be going for it`s MOT very soon as I now have access to a trailer Smile Thumbs Up .
The XS 400 only needs the float heights adjusting and I will be sending that off for an MOT also Smile Thumbs Up
The CG 125 of lovelyness is going to have to find a new home at some time over the winter, it`s just to small for me Crying or Very sad

All this leaves me with a gapping hole in my garage that needs to be filled with a dirty old shitty wreck of a bike for me to spend the next 6 months/a year screaming and shouting at whilst I empty my wallet trying desperately trying to get it to go Shocked Laughing

I want something a little bit different and NOT a plastic missile.
So I`m thinking along the lines of a MZ or CZ or an old two-stroke Jap bike?

So mighty BCF can you come up with a few ideas (sensible please Smile )

Receipe for an excellent project:
Start with something as comically shit as possible.
Add as many cylinders with as few strokes as possible.
Polish the fuck out of it.
Make it go faster.
Stick on and bits of plastic that make the bike look like you want to have sex with it.
Get bored and decide to turbo charge it.
Leave it half finished for all eternity.

I think a bike powered by a home made gas turbine is WELL overdue, but then i'm strange like that.

Home made gas turbines are HARD. Im currently looking at building a pulse jet bike though.

I think that you should get a crosser. A nice KMX or something.

That is no doubt cool, but i don't like the cylinders quite so far out wide, so perhaps it would be better done with a motoguzzi or CX500?

Not quite the same, but along similar lines and did sound quite nice with loudish pipes - firing up reminded me of a spitfire starting up.

+1 for the BMW

Those airhead boxer engines are beautiful things to work on, about as simple a design as you can get for a 4banger. I got to the point where I could remove the cylinder heads on my dnepr mt11/bmw R100 frankenbike inside of 30 mins. (With the sidecar attached) Valve clearances can be done in 5-10 minutes, points are easy to set on older ones-especially if you get the boyer points activated electronic ignition.

Cheap parts too!

turbo diesel bike ?

Way way beyond my abilities, but I love the idea Thumbs Up I`ve said it for ages that some of these small three & four cylinder diesels that the Japenese make could fit in a bike frame.
Imagine A touring bike with a small Mitsubishi diesel engine in it Smile .
A lot of the machinery that I use/d in grounds maintenance such as compact tractors and ride-on have small Mitsubishi diesel engines and they are as strong as an ox.
Hyundi? Dewoo? make small diesel engines for some of thier cars and I`m sure they could fit in a bike frame possibly? maybe? I think?.

As for my next project?.... so far it`s to be a field bike made out of the pile of spare XS400/250 bits that I have (waste not want not).
or a two-strokerrrrrrrrr Thumbs Up Smile .

The thought of a spicy MZ is appealing and I know the bits are availible Smile

thanks for the ideas folks ....keep em coming Thumbs Up

To clarify - don't have it now, this was a few years ago, suspect you might have seen one of the pics before, or at least an altered version Smile.

Click for more. Unfortunately none of the pictures are that great as they're all at funny angles.

It had a big tank from some dakar style bike, speedfight headlight and motocross style mudguard.

TZ700 flat track replica...
https://www.mccollector.com/_/rsrc/1235269441697/Home/del-mar-2003-tz-700-dirt-tracker/Del%20Mar%202003%20TZ%20700%20Dirt%20Tracker.jpg
Start by strapping two RD350LC ngins together, or trying to find an ex side car engine, and a pre monoshock TZ350 chassis...

https://www.amaproracing.com/photos/full/67_I0829D3-461.JPG
Or MZ ISDT Rplica
Or using 883 piglet as base for 'Evil Knievil Stunt Bike' replica....
Or Chinese 125 'repli-harley'... (AJS Raptor looks promicing) and fitting Honda VFR400 engine (seem plenty about!) and making a 'Mini V-Max'... extra Karma if you can work in the single sided swing arm!
Alternatively.... attmempt a Barry Shene replica Bultaco 250.... now THERE is an unusual 'tribute' bike!
https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-udk_UdfzzR0/TWP_gYibtLI/AAAAAAAABY0/KJeyE7d6abM/s400/sheene%252Bbultaco.jpg
https://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads18/N8s+20MK2+209971295346588.jpg
Bultaco Sherpa is well supported in Classic Trials, & Sammy miller does nearly enough bits to build a brand new one!
Same basic bike and 'bits' you'd just need to detail it out as a road racer....
That has to be a cafe racer project worth the doing!
